Project for the Reconstruction of the Roadway at Širina in Solin

The reconstruction work on the roadway at Širina Solin is progressing according to schedule. Currently, reinforced concrete piles are being installed, while preparations for reinforced concrete works, as well as the construction of foundations and pillars, are underway. These pillars will support the installation of a steel span structure.

The reconstruction project includes the construction of a new roadway (bridge) between the existing separated carriageways, with a grade-separated crossing over the existing Širina intersection and the Jadro River. The new bridge will have a total length of approximately 506 meters.

Upon completion of the new bridge, the Širina intersection will maintain full functionality. The project also includes its reconstruction, featuring roadway resurfacing, modernization of public lighting, replacement of existing traffic signal systems, and improvements to traffic signage and equipment.

Additionally, the project plans for the reconstruction and refurbishment of the existing bridges on the state road D8 (Old and New Jadro) and the renovation of Marko Marulić Street beneath these bridges, as the current road clearance under the Old Jadro bridge is insufficient.
